You've got a logo - what next?

Having a logo designed for your own business is a bit of a milestone - it represents everything great about your business. You love it, your target audience recognises it (hopefully!), and you've used it wherever you can.

You may have even had branding guidelines designed at the same time as your logo - hurray if you have. Brand guidelines will provide you with company fonts, colours, possibly extra graphics or bespoke illustrations, among other things, which will provide brand consistency for all your documents, whether created by yourself, your staff or a professional graphic designer.

Brand consistency is essential, especially when you are operating in a saturated market. Having a particular "look" that is applied to everything you send out into the world creates instant recognition to your audience, which leads to loyalty, trust in your authority, and an edge on your competition.

Having brand guidelines is the first step. The second step is applying these guidelines to all your internal and external materials.

Canva is a great free tool if you have the time and the visual skills to create these documents yourself. After a little practice, it is simple to navigate and can provide the brand consistency you need.

But remember, an experienced graphic designer can do what you need in a significantly shorter time. Plus, they create highly professional documents every day, so you know that what you are paying for will be top quality. Choosing someone who is an experienced graphic designer means your branding will be authentic and individual. It has to be unique, just like your business.
